QLD:  Growth, Maintenance and Major Projects
We’re already halfway through 2026, and it’s been an incredible year so far for the Blygold Queensland team! One of the highlights over the past few months was welcoming Supercars Champion Will Brown behind the scenes of our operation. Swapping his racing helmet for a spray mask, Will stepped into the Blygold workshop to see firsthand what goes into protecting HVAC equipment from corrosion. While spraying coils is a little different to racing cars, he gave it a good go! Plus, he certainly got to see the workshop in action.

As the warmer months draw closer, we’re seeing more customers taking a proactive approach to protecting their HVAC assets before the heat arrives, with a steady stream of equipment filtering through our workshop for treatment.Looking ahead, we’re gearing up to commence several major maintenance proejcts across Queensland over the coming weeks, keeping our team on the move. It’s shaping up to be a busy and exciting second half of the year, and we’re looking forward to helping even more customers protect and extend the life of their HVAC equipment.A huge thank you to our customers for your continued trust and support. We truly appreciate every opportunity to work with you and look forward to seeing what the rest of 2026 has in store.

NSW Briefing: Celebrating 50 Years and Expanding for the Future
Blygold International turns 50 this year. What an amazing achievement and a true testament to standing the test of time.A special 50-year event was held in Rotterdam, Netherlands, last month to commemorate this achievement, and the Blygold NSW management team was on hand to celebrate the occasion.
Back home in Sydney, we are proud and excited to announce that we are expanding, having secured an additional workshop facility next door to our existing premises. This increases our factory work area by 50%, allowing us to boost production and reduce lead times. We also recently welcomed a special visitor from Blygold International, with CEO Maarten van der Meer stopping in for a visit.
We often receive special requests from customers, and we always do our best to accommodate them.We recently completed a project where we Blygold-treated several chillers. The chiller frames and panels were coated in black, and once completed, the client was over the moon with the outcome.
During the past two quarters, we have conducted many Blygold lunch and learn presentations. If your consulting company would like us to come in and provide a presentation to your mechanical teams, please feel free to reach out to the Blygold NSW team and we can schedule a session.

VIC-TAS:  Blygold Protection of Heat Pumps
Heat pumps are becoming an increasingly popular choice for space and water heating, particularly as Victorian homes and businesses look to improve energy efficiency and reduce emissions. Powered by electricity and capable of delivering highly efficient heating, heat pumps are playing a growing role in the transition to more sustainable building services. The outdoor units of heat pumps are functionally and physically similar to air conditioning condenser units and typically incorporate valuable components such as heat exchangers, pumps and valves. As the outdoor coil operates in cooling mode to extract heat from the surrounding air, large volumes of condensation can form on the coil surface, creating conditions that accelerate corrosion and increase the risk of premature failure.Effective corrosion protection is therefore essential to maximise performance, energy efficiency, reliability and service life. It also helps maintain the appearance of equipment throughout its operational lifespan, protecting what is often a significant investment. Blygold’s PoluAl XT coil coatings and marine-grade polyurethane coatings for frames and casings provide long-term protection against harsh environmental conditions, helping heat pumps operate at their best for years to come.

WA: Protection With a Splash of Colour
While Surf Mist remains the go-to finish for most Blygold WA projects, it’s certainly not the only option. Over the years, the team has coated equipment in a range of colours including Cobalt, Rottnest Island White, Flamingo Blue and Matte Black — proving that asset protection and aesthetics can go hand in hand.Whether it’s condensers, indoor units, FCUs or chillers, Blygold coatings can be customised to help equipment blend seamlessly into its surroundings. And while pink machinery might not be for everyone (Gina Rinehart aside!), if you’ve got a specific colour in mind, we’d love to chat about how we can make it happen.

New Zealand: Does Blygold’s Coil Coating Need to Be Reapplied Every Year?
One of the most common misconceptions we encounter is that our protective coil coating needs to be reapplied annually. In reality, this is not how the system is designed to perform.Once applied correctly, the Blygold coating forms a durable protective barrier that is intended to remain on the coil for the life of the equipment under normal operating conditions. In most cases, the coating will outlast the service life of the air conditioning or refrigeration unit itself. Unlike sacrificial coatings, it is not consumed over time and does not require routine annual reapplication. Our standard warranty is one year, simply because it aligns with common industry practice and manufacturer warranty periods. The warranty should not be confused with the expected lifespan of the coating. A one-year warranty does not mean the coating is only expected to last for one year.In fact, we provide the same warranty even in some of New Zealand’s most aggressive environments, including geothermal areas such as Rotorua, where corrosion rates are significantly higher than in most other locations. In some cases, equipment manufacturers either limit or exclude warranty coverage in these environments, yet we continue to stand behind the performance of our coating under the same warranty terms. For customers seeking additional assurance, extended warranties of up to five years—and beyond—can be offered, provided a simple maintenance programme is followed. This typically includes regular coil cleaning by the maintenance contractor and an annual Blygold inspection and service. During this visit, we carry out a thorough deep clean of the coil, inspect the coating, and perform any minor touch-ups if required. These touch-ups are generally minimal and are intended to maintain the coating in optimum condition.Over the years, we have inspected many installations where the coils were treated five or more years earlier and had received little or no maintenance. In many of these cases, facility managers and maintenance contractors have been surprised to find that the coating remained in excellent condition and continued to provide effective protection.Occasionally, in environments where airborne contaminants, industrial emissions, or corrosive gases are present, the coating may show some surface discolouration. This is generally cosmetic and does not indicate a loss of protection. The coating continues to perform its primary function of isolating the underlying aluminium and copper from corrosive elements. That said, regular cleaning remains one of the most important factors in maximising the life and efficiency of any heat exchanger, whether coated or uncoated. Removing dirt, dust, salts and other deposits not only helps preserve the coating but also maintains heat transfer efficiency, airflow, and overall system performance.A Blygold-treated coil is a long-term investment in corrosion protection. Combined with sensible maintenance, it can continue protecting your equipment for many years, helping to reduce repair costs, extend equipment life, and improve the reliability of your HVAC system. The photo shown here demonstrates the level of detail involved in our cleaning regime. In some cases, we remove panels, fans, and control boxes to gain full access to the coil and surrounding components, allowing us to carry out the most thorough cleaning service possible and ensure the treated unit is maintained to the highest standard.
